The drum occupies the center of the narrative. In the oral tradition of the Reign, it is the drums that call Our Lady of the Rosary out of the waters. It is said that the saint emerged upon them, responding to their sound and rhythm.
In the painting, the instrument appears as a symbol of the reign itself and of its collective strength. More than a musical element, the drum is a mediator between worlds, it is the sound that summons, that guides, and that makes the queen’s presence possible.
