Renaming Stars is a series of works developed from historical newspaper advertisements searching for enslaved people who had escaped. From these dates and locations, I reconstruct the night skies of those moments, reading the constellations as both astronomical data and poetic territory. Key stars are then renamed after the fugitives, transforming the sky into a memorial space where erased lives are inscribed into cosmic history.
