Alice Ricci’s practice is based on the observation of spaces — both physical and digital — to explore the visual and temporal effects of displacement. The artist constructs compositions that unfold into paintings, drawings, installations, and site-specific projects, developing formal arrangements that experiment with our relationship to space and time. In her paintings, color planes are balanced by subtle tonal transitions and overlaid with graphic structures that allude to a moving architecture. Without linear perspectives or fixed points of stability, these layers create suspended situations, in which geometric elements, graphic details, and chromatic fields invite new ways of navigating a landscape. By combining tones close to white with fluorescent or saturated colors, the artist juxtaposes zones of silence and vibration, creating a kind of continuous state of flotation. In her installations and spatial interventions, Ricci approaches architecture as a vast pictorial surface, onto which she applies shimmering paints and reflective materials that visually reorganize the environment. In doing so, her work reconfigures perception and activates dialogues between body, color, surface, and place — establishing a sensitive experience of pause, displacement, and reinvention of the faculties of seeing.

Her solo exhibitions include: Equalizar os planos para visualizar o invisível (2025, Galeria CRUDO Arte Contemporáneo, Buenos Aires – Argentina); Wall-to-flow (2025, Galeria Metrópole, São Paulo – Brazil); and Alice Ricci(2011, MAG – Museu de Arte de Goiânia, Goiânia – Brazil). She has participated in group exhibitions and collaborative projects at the Bass Museum (Miami – United States), the Museu de Arte de Brasília (Brasília – Brazil), the Contemporary Arts Center (Cincinnati – USA), the Oscar Niemeyer Museum (Curitiba – Brazil), and the Modern Art Center Kulanshi (Astana – Kazakhstan).
