The work represents the Moçambique dance, one of the guard groups of the Reign of the Rosary. The dancers appear with gungas tied to their feet, marking the rhythm of the celebration with the metallic sound that accompanies each step.
In the tradition of the congado, Moçambique is considered the bearer of the crown and the one who removed Our Lady of the Rosary from the waters. The movement of the dance and the weight of the feet striking the ground evoke this ritual dimension, affirming a deep relationship between body, territory, and spirituality.
