Gisele Camargo’s work traverses the fields of landscape, abstraction, and architecture, articulating a visual research in constant expansion and reformulation. Through paintings, collages, drawings, and installations, the artist creates constructions that explore the boundaries between figure and plane, volume and surface, symbolism and abstraction, visibility and absence. Her production is structured in series that investigate both the geometric repertoire of the city — with defined planes, rigid lines, and brutalist structures — and the instability of nature, especially through her immersion in the Minas Gerais Cerrado. Rocks, vegetation, soil layers, and their natural processes emerge as pictorial and symbolic material, unfolding into mutable forms, sometimes spectral, other times dense and laden, challenging the stable logic of traditional landscape. Her work combines chromatic juxtapositions, floating geometries, and compositions in a state of vibration, creating a singular visual syntax. In her practice, the landscape is reconfigured as an active surface of thought — where territory is not just a static scene for contemplation, but a living field of transformation and inscription of vital energies.
